Home News Tribune to Close East Brunswick Office

After years as one of Middlesex County's most well-known business locations, the offices of the . The paper, owned by the Gannett Company, will continue publishing, however, from offices in Somerville.

The move was announced in the paper and online. Paul C. Grzella, general manager and editor, said the move would not change the way the paper covers local issues.

Before the -based News Tribune was purchased by the Home News, which was in New Brunswick in the 1990s, and merged into one paper, Middlesex County was home to two competing daily papers.

The Home News Tribune offices will move to a new location later this month.

Local advertising and newsroom personnel will share offices with the Home News Tribune’s sister paper the Courier News in Somerville.

“This is simply a change in how we utilize available space,” said Paul C. Grzella, general manager and editor. “We will continue to produce distinctly local newspapers for each market as well as a 24/7 digital platform, MyCentralJersey.com. This does not impact any position or our commitment to producing unique local news and advertising products for Middlesex County.”

The move will be done by July 31.

 the Gannett Company cut staff at area papers, including  , Asbury Park Press, and Courier News, by 36 employees.
