How a College Graduate Became a Successful Entrepreneur

Morissa Schwartz started her publishing business right out of college and is now a successful woman entrepreneur

Local businesswoman, Morissa Schwartz, is taking publishing to the next level with her business, GenZ Publishing. Her business provides an opportunity for the new generation of talented writers all around the world to be professionally published authors. Just under two years ago, Schwartz had a dream to positively change the world one word at a time, and with the help of the Women’s Center for Entrepreneurship (WCEC) and with hours of planning, perseverance and dedication she was able to turn her dream, as well as other people’s dreams, into a reality.

GenZ Publishing is always looking for young and aspiring authors who are passionate about writing and want their work to be published and read all over the world. GenZ Publishing’s mission is to give a voice to all aspiring millennial authors who are writing about topics that help shape today’s culture and inspire the community. Schwartz describes GenZ Publishing as a family where authors are encouraged to come together and support one another rather than competing with one another.

GenZ Publishing just launched a new and revamped website which she is proud of. Sequels to bestselling titles are coming soon as well such as K.W. Peery’s number one Amazon bestseller, “Tales of a Receding Hairline” and Justin Fulkerson’s “An Hour for Magic.”

Schwartz credits her success to the Women’s Center for Entrepreneurship. A week after she graduated from Drew University in Madison, NJ , she wrote her business plan for GenZ Publishing and took it to the Small Business Administration (SBA) who then forwarded Schwartz to the WCEC. At first she was worried about funding for GenZ Publishing because she was fresh out of college. Disregarding her young age, the WCEC worked with Schwartz and helped her transform her passion into a sustainable business The WCEC provided Schwartz with the resources and guidance that she needed in order to become the successful entrepreneur she is today.

Today, the success of GenZ Publishing continues to flourish; it currently has 8 freelance workers and 6 interns. GenZ Publishing has published 50 different authors from all around the world, and inspires them the same way she was inspired by the WCEC. As author Adrian DeBarros said “She continues to be a huge motivational figure in my life and others around the world.” The future of GenZ Publishing is bright and Schwartz will forever be known as the voice of Generation Z and will continue to provide a voice for the new generation in the successful years to come.
