Iselin Man Drove Wrong Way On Rt. 18, Killed Rutgers Student, Cops Say
Police say this 42-year-old Iselin man drove the wrong way on Rt. 18 south late Wednesday night and killed a 21-year-old Rutgers student:
PISCATAWAY, NJ — A man from the Iselin section of Woodbridge was charged with a fatal hit and run that occurred during the early morning hours Thursday, Feb. 16.
At 12:58 a.m., authorities responded to Rt. 18 southbound near the border of Piscataway and New Brunswick, following a 911 call of a car traveling in the wrong direction on Rt. 18 south, causing a head-on collision with another vehicle.
Upon arrival, authorities located the victim, Max Spivak, 21, of Old Bridge, who was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Spivak was a Rutgers student.
The driver of the other vehicle, Nageswar Polamuri, 42, of Iselin, fled the scene but was eventually located.

On Thursday, Polamuri was charged with one count of second-degree Leaving the Scene of a Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash.
