Last Day For The Woodbridge Kmart Will Be This Saturday
The Kmart located on St. Georges Avenue in the Avenel section of Woodridge will close April 16. There will be one left in NJ after that.
WOODBRIDGE, NJ — This Saturday will be the last day of business for the Kmart located in the Avenel section of Woodbridge.
This is the Woodbridge Kmart located on St. Georges Avenue.
Previously in March, a store employee said April 17 would be their last day open, but it will now be this Saturday, April 16, NJ.com reported.

Liquidation sales have been going on there for the past month.
With the closure of the Avenel store, there is now only one Kmart left in New Jersey, in Westwood.

And there are now only three Kmarts left in the entire nation: The Westwood location, one on Long Island and a third in Miami. There is also on the island of St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
At one point there were 2,400 Kmart stores in America and Canada, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Both Sears and Kmart are operated by Transformco, and both Sears and Kmart filed for bankruptcy in 2018.
