LETTER: Govt Wastes Too Much Money

To the Editor:

I cannot believe the United States Government is spending like a drunken sailor on shore leave for the things contained in this article at End of the American Dream.com:

• A Dartmouth professor got $137,350 in government money to develop a 'recession themed' video game called "Layoff";
• The National Institutes of Health spent $800,000 in 'stimulus funds' to study the impact of genital washing on men in South Africa;
• $100,000 of US taxpayer money was given to Indonesia for a Celebrity Chef Fruit Promotion Road Show;
• The University of California at Santa Cruz obtained $615,000 to digitize pictures of the Grateful Dead;
• Gitmo detainees will now enjoy a $750,000 soccer field, courtesy of the US taxpayers. 

And that's only 5 of 30 stupid spending items on just this one list!

I've written to Senator Lautenberg, Senator Menendez, and Congressman Lance on this. 

Please reply to me as to why and how my hard earned tax dollars are being thrown away on this garbage!
