'Lost Puppy' Burglary Ploy In Woodbridge Being Investigated

Woodbridge police say they are investigating reports of a duo who say they are looking for a lost puppy in the Colonia section.

WOODBRIDGE, NJ — According to an NBC report and resident's Facebook post, two people are knocking on the doors of homes in the Colonia section, asking about a lost puppy.

If someone answers the door, the man says they are looking for a lost puppy. But if nobody is home, they enter the backyard and try to get inside. NBC reported that three homes in Colonia have been burglarized.

"To my knowledge my parent's house (in Avenel) has been the only one robbed, but they have been spotted many times in many yards varying through Avenel and Colonia," said the resident who originally posted the photos.
