Man Indicted For Having 34 Kilos of Heroin, Cocaine In Middlesex County
The Bronx man was caught on the Turnpike in Middlesex County with a 17 kilos of heroin and 17 kilos of cocaine.

CARTERET, NJ— A Bronx man has been indicted for having 34 kilograms of drugs, following an arrest on the New Jersey Turnpike in Middlesex County.
Juan Lorenzo, 36, was indicted by a grand jury on multiple drug counts, stemming from a June 21 arrest.
State Troopers pulled Lorenzo over on the Turnpike outside of Carteret, after his Saturn Outlook was flagged by troopers conducting a narcotics investigation. Lorenzo acted suspicious during the traffic stop, giving inconsistent answers, prompting officers to search the vehicle with his permission.

During their search, police found 15 kilograms each of heroin and cocaine, with 21 kilograms stored in a hidden compartment in the trunk. The remaining 13 kilograms were in a duffle bag and cooler in the cargo area.
Lorenzo was charged with possession of heroin with intent to distribute (1st degree), possession of cocaine with intent to distribute (1st degree), possession of heroin (3rd degree), and possession of cocaine (3rd degree).

If convicted of all charges, Lorenzo could be facing up to 50 years in prison, and fines up to $1.7 million.
He is currently being held in Middlesex County Jail; bail is $250,000.
