Man Killed By Drunk Driver On Rt. 440 South, State Police Say
A man was killed by an allegedly drunk tractor trailer driver from Brooklyn Wednesday afternoon on Rt. 440 South just south of Woodbridge.
PERTH AMBOY, NJ — A man was killed by an allegedly drunk tractor trailer driver from Brooklyn Wednesday afternoon on Rt. 440 South just south of Woodbridge Township.
The accident happened near milepost 2.7 on Rt. 440 South in Perth Amboy at just after 3 p.m. Wednesday: A 45-year-old man was killed after the Hyundai Sonata he was driving was rear ended by a tractor trailer. The driver of the tractor trailer, Aleksander Isserovich, 38, of Brooklyn was charged with driving under the influence.
After Isserovich rear ended the Hyundai Sonata, it jolted forward, striking another passenger vehicle. The tractor trailer then jackknifed and struck two other passenger cars.

The Hyundai driver, Jason Appio, 45, of Ocean Township was pronounced dead at 4:40 p.m. at Raritan Bay Medical Center.
The drivers of three other vehicles who were involved in the crash were taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick and were treated for minor injuries.
