Woodbridge Motel Murder: Man Turns Himself In

The Bronx man turned himself in on Monday. The 18-year-old woman, however, still remains at large.

WOODBRIDGE, NJ — The Bronx man wanted in the fatal shooting in an Avenel motel turned himself in Monday morning. However, the 18-year-old woman still remains at large.

Martin Martinez Jr., 20, of the Bronx, turned himself in at 10:30 a.m. to the Woodbridge Police Department accompanied by his attorney. A second suspect, Cynthia Rivera, 18, is still wanted.

Martinez and Rivera were involved in the incident at the Loop Inn Motel, in the Avenel section of Woodbridge on June 21, where one man was killed and a second critically injured, police said. Andrew Torres, 21, of the Bronx was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:36 a.m.

The second victim, a 24-year-old man, also from the Bronx, was critically injured and was taken to University Hospital in Newark.

Martinez is being held at the Middlesex County Adult Corrections Facility on a charge of conspiracy to commit murder in the 1st degree.
