Homicide Suspect Found Hiding In Woodbridge, Police Say

A man wanted for a homicide in Puerto Rico last month was found hiding in a home in Keasbey.

WOODBRIDGE, NJ — A man wanted for a homicide in Puerto Rico was found hiding in a home in the Keasbey section of Woodbridge, where he was arrested without incident on March 11.

Juan Alberto Bordonada-Laureano, 30, was wanted on a homicide and illegal weapons warrant in the municipality of Arecibo, Puerto Rico. The charges are related to a fatal shooting police say he committed in that area in February.

Through an extensive investigation the Puerto Rico Police Department, Arecibo Criminal Investigation Unit (CIC), in coordination with the U.S. Marshals Puerto Rico Violent Fugitive Task Force (PRVOTF) determined he had left Puerto Rico and was hiding out in Woodbridge.

“This arrest sends a clear message: those who commit violent crimes and try to hide outside of Puerto Rico will not find refuge. Our investigators tracked him to New Jersey and, thanks to the coordinated work of our fugitive teams, we were able to take him into custody,” said Wilmer Ocasio-Ibarra, U.S. Marshal for the District of Puerto Rico.
