Metuchen Man, Keyport Woman Charged with Multiple Armed Robberies

They broke into homes in Matawan and Marlboro Township, where they threatened homeowners inside with a knife, police said.

Metuchen, NJ - A Metuchen man and a Keyport woman were indicted last week for breaking into three different Monmouth County homes this past winter, and threatening the homeowners inside with a knife in two of the incidents.

In the most serious charge, Phillip Kellerman, 28, of Durham Avenue in Metuchen, and Alyssa Plath, 24, of Myrtle Avenue in Keyport, are accused of breaking into a Marlboro Township home on Jan. 19 of this year, where they threatened the homeowner with a knife, putting the homeowner "in fear of immediate bodily injury," according to the criminal complaint.

A day later, on Jan. 20, they broke into a Matawan home, and again threatened the two people inside with a knife, prosecutors said.
