STATEN ISLAND, NJ - A Middlesex County woman was found unconscious in her car Saturday night in Staten Island and police say she was passed out from a drug overdose — all while her baby wailed in the backseat.
The 24-year-old woman from Sayreville, Kateyln Cox, was found unconscious behind the wheel of her Hyundai Sonata, which had the motor running while parked in a strip mall in Arden Heights, Staten Island, SILive.com reported. Her 3-month-old infant son was crying in the backseat. She was parked outside a pizzeria on Arthur Kill Road.
Police found the woman at 8 p.m. Saturday and EMS workers were called, who gave her naloxone, an anti-overdose spray given to people who overdose on heroin or other opiates. Cox almost died from an overdose of the drug, police said. She required two doses of naloxone to make her regain consciousness, police said.
