Woodbridge, NJ - A young New Brunswick woman was tragically killed Sunday afternoon when she crashed into a tractor trailer on the New Jersey Turnpike, the NJ State Police confirmed to Patch Tuesday morning.

Jacquelin Sanchez, 21, of New Brunswick, was driving southbound on the Turnpike through Woodbridge, State Trooper Lawrence Peele said. That's when she drove into the back of a disabled tractor trailer truck that was stopped in the right-hand land.

Sanchez was pronounced dead at the scene, he said. The truck was in the far right lane, Peele confirmed, not pulled over off the road. It is unknown at this time why the tractor trailer was still in the roadway, but Peele reiterated that the vehicle was disabled. He said the investigation is ongoing.
