New Council President In Woodbridge

Councilwoman Nancy Drumm was sworn in as council president and Councilman Rick Dalina was appointed council vice-president.

Woodbridge has a new township council president.

Third Ward Councilwoman Michele Charmello, who was also the council president, resigned her seat at the July 21 council meeting, saying she was leaving to take a “tremendous career opportunity.”

Charmello said she wanted to “thank people of Avenel and Port Reading for allowing me to be your voice.”

She plans to take a job as the executive director of a non-profit organization near Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, according to the Sentinel.

The Council also swore in Cory Spiller, an Avenel fire officer, to fill the remainder of Charmello’s term.
