No Blizzard, No BOE Vote!

Voter's Have The Power To Stop Bad Government Spending and Taxing!

Bulletin BoardNo Blizzard, No BOE Vote!

Thanks Mother Nature for sparing Woodbridge Twp. from a blizzard and, for today, the BOE Referendum Vote!

By March 14, 2017 10:10 am ET

The Woodbridge Twp BOE (aka, The McCormac Team) was hoping to get its latest spending agenda approved by voters on March 14th, via a 'Referendum' few voters in the towship even knew about.
Like most things McCormac, the Referendum promises lots of goodies, all with "NO" impact on already over taxed residents. Talk about snow, well that is one heck of a snowjob!
As a matter of public interest, the Home News Tribune published my opinion as to why voters should defeat the Referendum in the March 13 edition of their paper. I appluad the paper for doing so.
Here is what they published:

For those that may not be aware of it, the Woodbridge Twp. Mayor, John McCormac, is promoting the Woodbridge Twp. BOE’s Special Election Referendum Election. The election will be asking voters to approve $45,472,476.00 in new bond debt, plus other expenditures, not to exceed an all-in cap of $59,218,113.00. Per the ‘powers that be’, the bond and all the other $$$’s that will be expended will not cost taxpayers anything. No increase in taxes, so they claim. Well, one should ask, from where is the money coming? Did Woodbridge Twp. just win the Mega Lottery or get a huge ‘gift’ from a billionaire? The answer is NO! The money will come from more bond debt and out of the township’s ‘General Fund’, (that’s were township officials put money they do not need voter approval to spend, and spent it they do!)
On several different occasions, past BOE Presidents have stated the township could not afford fulltime kindergarten! They also stated if the State mandated it, they would fight it, unless the State paid for it. Will the State be funding the township’s kindergarten, again NO! The taxpayers will bear the costs in higher taxes, sooner or later. Aside from helping some parents who would like to send their toddlers of to school a year early (so much for child/parent bonding) at the expense of others, who benefits from a kindergarten?
While it would be easy to state many other reasons to vote “NO” on this Referendum, space will not allow me to do so. So, I will leave the reader with three things to ponder:
1. When did government ever spend money that did not come from taxpayers in one way or another?
2. Do you know what a PILOT Program is? In short, it is a tax abatement for smart developers and businesses, which other property owners must cover. Please, Google the former NJ Comptroller’s 30 page, 2010 report on municipal tax programs.
3. Where have all your tax $$$’s from years of payments to the BOE gone?

The VOTE on the Referendum will be held on Tuesday, March 14, at your usual polling place, from 2 to 8 PM. Even if you must shovel snow and walk to the voting place, get there and when you do, vote NO!
End
Owing to the storm, the vote on the Referendum has been rescheduled to March 28th. The voting will be at the usual voter polling places from 2 to 8 PM. I encourage all voters to avail themselves of this opportunity to stop the McCormac Team's latest spending binge! It is your tax $$$'s, $57.7 MILLION of them.
