Perth Amboy Man Accused of Touching Teen Boy in Church
Police say the alleged touching happened when Batista volunteered as a hall monitor during CCD classes at the parish.

PERTH AMBOY, NJ - A Perth Amboy has been charged with improperly touching a 16-year-old boy at a church in 2015. Luis Felipe Batista, 21, of Perth Amboy, was released from custody after he was served a summons charging him with a third-degree count of endangering the welfare of a child.
During the investigation it was determined that Batista, who was 19 years old at the time, improperly touched the boy on numerous occasions at the Holy Trinity Church in Perth Amboy during the fall of 2015, county prosecutors said. Batista volunteered for more than five years as an unpaid hall monitor during CCD classes at the parish.
The charge was filed during an investigation by Detective Wilson Tavarez of the Perth Amboy Police Department and Detective Mark Morris of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office. Batista is pictured, in a photo provided by the prosecutor's office.
