Perth Amboy Man Admits to Fatally Stabbing Another

The murder was not a random act of violence and the two men knew each other, Middlesex County prosecutors said.​

Perth Amboy, NJ - A Perth Amboy man pleaded guilty Wednesday to the fatal stabbing of another city resident.

Wilbert Hernandez, 36, pleaded guilty to a count of murder in the first degree, admitting he fatally stabbed Ramon Lugo, 35, of Perth Amboy on October 14, 2014. The murder was not a random act of violence and the two men knew each other, Middlesex County prosecutors said.

He also pleaded guilty to the charge of certain person not to have a weapon in the fourth degree.

Hernandez will be sentenced to 30 years incarceration in a New Jersey state prison and will not be eligible for parole during the 30-year period for the murder charge.
