WOODBRIDGE, NJ — A Perth Amboy woman was arrested Friday and charged with shoplifting perfume from the Boscov's and toddler pants from J.C. Penny in the Woodbridge Center Mall.

A store security officer said he was getting ready to close the store at 9 p.m. Monday when he said he saw the woman pick up several perfume bottles and wrap them in her scarf. She then walked out of the store with a man, he said. The security officer stopped them and they began to push and shove him to try and get away.

The man ran off, but the woman was apprehended after she scratched the officer multiple times, he said. Yessenia Moreno, 43, of Perth Amboy, was found with two perfume sets on her, and the scarf was stolen as well, the security officer said, with a total value of $432. She also allegedly had a magnetic tag removal tool, used to take security tags off merchandise, as well as four pairs of toddler boys' pants, which police think were stolen from the J.C. Penny's in the mall.
