Police Cruiser In Rt. 1 Accident in Edison
A woman suffered a serious head injury in the crash, and the officer was also injured.

Edison Township, NJ - A police cruiser was involved in an accident Saturday night on Rt. 1 in Edison Township, after the other driver made an illegal left hand turn across Rt. 1 South, according to NJ.com.
Both the police officer and the other driver's wife were injured when the two cars collided, Edison police Chief Thomas Bryan said. Edison Police Officer Michael Gallant was traveling south on Rt. 1 shortly after 11 p.m. Saturday, when the man turned left onto Prince Street. He collided with the squad car.
The man's daughter was in the front seat of his car, and his wife was in the back seat and was not wearing a seat belt. The woman was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital for a serious head injury. Officer Gallant was also taken there for treatment of head, neck and knee injuries.
