Sewaren Resident Hit, Killed By Car Sunday
A 90-year-old pedestrian was hit by a car and killed early Sunday morning, said Woodbridge Chief Law Enforcement Officer Brian Murphy.
WOODBRIDGE, NJ — A pedestrian was hit by a car and killed early Sunday morning, said Woodbridge Chief Law Enforcement Officer Brian Murphy.
This happened in Woodbridge's Sewaren section: At 6:25 a.m. Jose Acosta, 90 years old and a Sewaren resident, was walking across West Avenue at the corner of Woodbridge Avenue. He was in the marked crosswalk when he was struck by an SUV headed southbound, said the police chief.
The driver remained at the scene and the investigation is continuing.

Acosta was taken to an unnamed hospital where he died of his injuries later that same day, Sunday.
