WOODBRIDGE, NJ — A Newark woman was arrested last Wednesday, Nov. 1 and charged with shoplifting from the Woodbridge Center mall.

Edith Jordan, 45, was seen on CCTV cameras at the Sears putting assorted clothing into a shopping bag, a store security officer said. She tried to walk out of the store with more than $600 of clothing inside when she was stopped by store security, police said. Woodbridge police were called and she was taken to Woodbridge police headquarters. A pair of pliers was in her purse, police say, and when they asked her what they were for, she allegedly said "I use them to cut the tags off clothes."

It was discovered that Jordan was wanted on two outstanding warrants out of Union Township and she was held on a full cash bail, no 10 percent option.
