WOODBRIDGE, NJ - An Edison man was arrested for trying to shoplift $500 worth of baby formula and allergy medicine from the Woodbridge Wegman's on Wednesday, police said.
Daniel Winters, 31, was seen by a Wegman's store employee placing the baby formula and over-the-counter allergy medicine into a basket Wednesday afternoon and walking out of the store, police said. He was stopped by a loss prevention officer in the parking lot, who called police, and he handed the items over when asked. Winters was placed in handcuffs and as he was being led into a Woodbridge Twp. squad car, a small glass pipe primarily used for smoking crack cocaine fell out of his pants leg, police said.
He was charged with shoplifting as well as possession of drug paraphernalia.
