Smoke In Woodbridge Caused By Power Plant Testing

Breaking: If you noticed smoke in Woodbridge Township Monday morning, it was caused by testing at the new PSE&G plant in Sewaren.

WOODBRIDGE, NJ — If you noticed smoke in Woodbridge Township Monday morning, it was caused by testing at the new PSE&G generating station in Sewaren, Mayor John McCormac said.

The PSE&G power plant was doing some type of testing Monday morning that resulted in smoke conditions throughout the area, he said. He did not know the specifics of the testing or what exactly caused the smoke, but said the smoke is all clear now. PSE&G built a new generating station in Sewaren on the same site as their longstanding plant, which was severely damaged during Sandy.
