Spring is Time to Celebrate India!

The Woodbridge Public Library will celebrate the heritage of India with a series of four spring programs at the Main Library.

On May 20th, we will learn about Holi, the Festival of Colors, a time to renew friendships and build new relationships. At this workshop you will wear Indian clothes, make a colorful friendship craft, and dance to fun songs. On May 27th, you will visit Colorful Rajasthan, a land of grand palaces and forts, where you will enjoy folk songs, wear traditional clothes, and create a bookmark with images of the Rajasthan deserts. On June 3rd, we marvel at Beautiful Gujarat as we explore this land of Ghandi which was at the forefront of the Indian Independence Movement. You will learn about wildlife habitats, wear Gujarati clothes, and learn a folk dance. On June 10th, we complete our series with a celebration of Diwali, the Festival of Lights. This workshop will focus on stories, music, and dance with an opportunity to wear Indian clothes, sparkling bangles, and authentic Indian jewels!
