St. Joe's High School Team Moves Up in Academic Quiz Show
The Metuchen-based high school competitors have entered the second round of "The Challenge," a Cablevision contest for tri-state area schools.

If you go to Saint Joe's, you're no slouch.
Five Saint Joseph's High School boys are proving they got the right stuff as they enter a second round match-up at "The Challenge," MSG Varsity's cable quiz show.
The Saint Joe's team is represented by Michael Ploch, Jason Hill, and Nicholas Palmieri, with Alex Frey serving as team captain and Frank Fritz as the alternate. Edward Powers is the teens' academic advisor.

The Metuchen-based high school team will face off against DePaul Catholic High School, located in Wayne. The match will be televised on Thursday, April 12, at 6:30 pm on Cablevision's iO TV.
"The Challenge" includes 192 schools from the tri-state area who advance through a series of elimination rounds, with one school in each region being crowned regional champion and winning $2,500 for their school.

The winning teams from each region go on to compete in a Tri-State Showdown, where they stand the chance to receive $10,000 in school prize money.
Back for his third season as "The Challenge" host is Jared Cotter, host of “MSG Varsity’s Talent Show” and a popular semi-finalist from American Idol. Cotter will serve as moderator, testing competing teams on their knowledge of history, arts and literature, current events, math, and science in front of a live studio audience.
