Suspicious Package Shuts Down Turnpike Near Carteret
BREAKING: A suspicious package was found on a commuter bus at 9 a.m. Wednesday, State Police said.

CARTERET, NJ - Northbound truck lanes of the New Jersey Turnpike near Carteret were shut down for about two hours Wednesday morning as State Police investigated a suspicious package on a bus.
The call about the suspicious package on a commuter bus came in at 9:06 a.m., State Police said, and the bus pulled off to the shoulder of the Turnpike. Troopers investigated and the package was found to be non suspicious.
However, northbound truck lanes of the Turnpike were closed for about two hours as they did their investigation. The Turnpike fully reopened shortly after 11 a.m.
