Swimmers From The Gateway Family YMCA Compete in Bronze Champions

The Gateway Family YMCA Rapids Swim Team kicked off their Championship season with the Bronze Championships held in February 2019 at the Raritan Bay Area YMCA in Perth Amboy, NJ. Swimming against 28 other team from Y’s around New Jersey, swimmers competed in various individual events and achieved personal best times. The Gateway Family YMCA Rapids Swim Team is hosted by The Gateway Family YMCA – Rahway Branch, 1564 Irving Street, Rahway, NJ.

Swimming in the Bronze Championships representing The Gateway Family YMCA were: Patrick Abesamis- 12, Aashni Cjhawada-13, Arya Chawada- 10, Alyanna Delacruz- 11, Nygel Hill- 11, Valerie Ranalletta- 10, Nicole Rossmorrey- 12, Ziah Thomas-Petit- 10, Darryl Victor- 9, Elodie Victor- 11 and Stanley Li- 9.
Among the top finishers were: Yohan Parraga (10) with 4th place in the 50 yard freestyle; His time even qualified him for a spot at the Silver Championships,
Jonathan Campbell-Boucher (11) with 13th place in the 200 yard IM, and Cesar Rodriguez (12) with 15th place in the 100 yard butterfly. These swimmers qualified for Silver Championships.

The Gateway Family YMCA top finishers in the Silver Championships were: Jonathon Campbell-Boucher (11) finishing 10th overall in the 50 yard butterfly and Cesar Rodriguez (12) finishing 15th overall in the 50 yard breaststroke.
