Ted Cruz in Rahway Thursday

Yes, you read that correctly. The GOP presidential contender is scheduled to appear in Rahway this Thursday, Dec. 3. He will hold a press conference at 4:30 p.m. at the American Legion Post there to announce his New Jersey leadership team, headed by former Bogota mayor and GOP state power player Steve Lonegan.

After decidedly blue-collar Rahway, Cruz will head to a $2,700-per-plate fundraiser dinner at the Shackamaxon Country Club in Scotch Plains. After that, he will attend a $1,000-a-guest fundraiser dinner Thursday evening at the Englewood home of Elizabeth and Avi Samuels, according to NJToday.

Interestingly, the Samuels also recently hosted Cruz rival Marco Rubio, where they raised $100,000 for him, according to reports. The American Legion Post is at 581 Maple Avenue in Rahway.
