Time is Running Out for Registering to Vote

If you haven't register to vote, it's time to get a move on: the deadline to register to vote for the November election is Tuesday.

The New Jersey Division of Elections is reminding all eligible but unregistered voters, as well as New Jersey voters who have recently moved to another county, that they have until October 16 to sign up.

To register to vote by mail, applicants may visit www.Elections.NJ.gov to obtain county-specific registration applications available in several languages, including Spanish, Korean, Gujarati, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese.

Applications may be mailed up to and including October 16, and applications postmarked by that date will be accepted. An original signature is required on each application, so faxed and electronically submitted registration applications are not permitted. Information on registering to vote in-person, including a list of superintendents and commissioners of registration and their hours, is available at the New Jersey Division of Elections' website, www.Elections.NJ.gov. 

Applicants may also register to vote while utilizing services from the following agencies and programs:

• Motor Vehicle Commission Offices
• New Jersey Department of Human Services
  • Division of Medical Assistance & Health Service
  • Division of Developmental Disabilities
  • Commission of the Blind & Visually Impaired
  • WorkFirst NJ Program
• New Jersey Department of Human Services
  • Office of Disability Services
  • Supplemental Food Program for Women, Infant & Children (WIC)
• New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development
  • Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services
• Armed Forces of the United States Recruitment Offices
• County Welfare Agency or County Board of Social Services
