Woodbridge police say it's a combination of having so many major roadways go through Woodbridge, and the fact that local law enforcement takes drunk driving seriously here.

"Almost every major highway in New Jersey goes through Woodbridge: The Turnpike, Parkway, Rt. 440, Rt. 287, Rts. 1 and 9, Rt. 35, Rt. 27 and so on. So while State Police patrol the major highways, we get drivers using our roads to get on them," said Capt. Roy Hoppock of the Woodbridge police. "We have lots of people who commute on our roads or use them to get home at night, and we want to keep them safe."
