Two Former Woodbridge Teachers Lose License: Report
A former music teacher at Avenel Middle School and a former administrator at Woodbridge High both had their teaching certificates revoked.

Woodbridge, NJ - A former music teacher at Avenel Middle School and a former administrator at Woodbridge High School both had teaching certificates revoked by the state in September, Greater Media Newspapers reported. The license revocation came several years after two separate scandals broke out involving each of them.
Both teachers — Lois Rotella and Randall Hunt — have long since quit the Woodbridge School System. Lois Rotella, a former longtime Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction, retired in August 2012. After she retired, in 2015, the state Office of Fiscal Accountabilityy released a report alleging Rotella was intimidating, vindictive, feared by her subordinates and fixated on standardized test scores.
Randall Hunt was a music teacher at Avenel Middle School who resigned after the school district charged him with unbecoming conduct in 2014.

Hunt was accused of asking students whether they “were sexual” and allegedly told an eighth grade student, “Come back when you’re 18 so we can have fun.”
Both Rotella and Hunt had their licenses revoked on Sept. 23 by the New Jersey Department of Education.
