Disabled Youth Ice Hockey Team Shows They Have the Right Stuff on Ice

The United Spinal Youth Rangers showed nothing limited them but their imaginations at the Woodbridge Community Center.

Disability is only a word, if you're a member of the Woodbridge United Spinal Youth Rangers Ice Hockey Team.

The group of 10- to 18-year-old physically disabled hockey enthusiasts played a sled hockey match Saturday against members of the Woodbridge PBA.  By the reaction of the fans, the Youth Rangers performed with amazing skill and dexterity.

First developed in Norway, the sport allows .Sled physically and developmentally challenged players to participate for the first time in ice hockey, one of the most popular winter sport in the world.  The athletes sit on sleds made of tubular framing supported by metal skate blades and propel the sled by the use of picks that are also used to shoot and pass the puck.
