Upcoming Woodbridge DWI Checkpoints

In May and June, Woodbridge Twp. police will be on these roads on these dates pulling cars over to check for drunk driving:

WOODBRIDGE, NJ - Heads up: The Woodbridge police department announced this week they will be doing DWI checkpoints twice in May and then twice again in June. The checkpoints will be held on Friday, May 12 and Friday, May 19. Then in June, drunk driving checkpoints will be held on Friday, June 16 and Friday, June 30.

Woodbridge Township police will be conducting the checkpoints on Routes 1 and 9, Rt. 35, Rt. 27 and NJ-184, Sgt. James Chessere of the Traffic Unit said. They will also be out on busier county roads on those days. They will then being doing random DWI checkpoints once a month for the rest of 2017, he said.

"Additionally, we will have extra patrols every weekend and during special events where increased drinking and driving is known to occur," Sgt. Chessere said.
