Water Company Robbery Ploy Strikes Woodbridge
An elderly woman was robbed Monday morning when she let in two men pretending to be with the water company, police said.

Woodbridge, NJ - Woodbridge police sent out a warning Wednesday that the water company robbery ploy is back in Woodbridge Township. This comes the same day PSE&G warned about a ”significant” increase in PSE&G scams this holiday season.
Two men went to an elderly woman’s house in the township earlier this week, pretending to be with water company. They claimed they needed to check the older woman’s water. Yet once inside the home, one distracted her while the other ransacked her bedroom looking for valuables, Woodbridge police said. The robbery occurred Monday, Dec. 14 at 10 a.m., Captain Roy Hoppock told Patch.
Woodbridge police are warning everyone to not let these men into your home. Call 911 if there are suspicious men in your neighborhood, and share this info, especially with elderly neighbors, who are often the targets of such crimes.
