Woman, 18, Hit By Car On Rt. 27 In Woodbridge

The young woman, 18, was walking on Rt. 27 when she was hit in the middle of Monday afternoon:

WOODBRIDGE, NJ — A teenage woman from Edison was hit by a car Monday afternoon on Rt. 27 in Woodbridge, Woodbridge Police confirmed.

The woman was walking along Rt. 27 when she was hit, said police. She was struck by an SUV, a 2010 Mazda Tribute, at 1:48 p.m. Monday on Rt. 27 at Magnolia Road.

When police got there, they found the 18-year-old woman facedown on Rt. 27.

She was seriously injured and was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. Her condition remains unknown as of Wednesday, and she was not identified by police.

The car that hit her did stop and remained on the scene, said Woodbridge Police. No summons have been issued to date, however the WPD Traffic Enforcement Unit is still investigating.
