Woman Killed In Wrong-Way Parkway Crash In Woodbridge: Cops

The wrong-way car collided with another vehicle on a NJ highway.

A 23-year-old woman was killed Sunday night when she was driving the wrong way on the Garden State Parkway and crashed into another vehicle, police said.

Shannon Whooley of Woodbridge was traveling north in the southbound lanes near milepost 128.7 when she struck a southbound car, police said. Whooley was pronounced dead at about 11 p.m. at the Woodbridge site.

The driver of the other car was described only as a man who was hospitalized in serious condition.

An investigation into the crash is pending, police said. The parkway was closed for three hours following the collision.
