Woman Pleads Guilty In 2016 Woodbridge Stabbing
A 33-year-old Bayonne woman was sentenced Friday to serve 15 years for fatally stabbing a man she was dating in Woodbridge in 2016.

WOODBRIDGE, NJ — A 33-year-old Bayonne woman was sentenced Friday to serve 15 years in a New Jersey state prison for fatally stabbing another Bayonne resident in Woodbridge.
Amarlis Calderon was ordered to the prison term for killing Pablo Caamano, 34, on July 18, 2016. The sentence was imposed in New Brunswick before Superior Court Judge Pedro Jimenez, Jr. last Friday, March 23, 2018.
Calderon pleaded guilty on January 8, 2018 to aggravated manslaughter.

An investigation by Sgt. Frank Robina of the New Jersey State Police and Detective Craig Marchak of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office determined that Calderon, who was walking on Randolph Avenue in Woodbridge, stabbed Caamano when he drove by and stopped to pick her up. The couple knew each other.
Calderon then got into the vehicle and the couple headed toward Interchange 12 on the New Jersey Turnpike, where they pulled to the side of the road. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The New Jersey State Police initially were alerted on July 18, 2016 at 3:20 a.m. and responded along with members of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office.
