Woman Shoplifted From Avenel K-Mart, Police Report
She was arrested Thursday afternoon after police said she tried to walk out with 48 cans of Red Bull and Pepsi.

WOODBRIDGE, NJ - A woman was charged with shoplifting from the Avenel K-Mart on St. Georges Avenue Thursday, Woodbridge police said, and it turned out she was wanted on four outstanding warrants, from Perth Amboy, Piscataway, Linden and South Plainfield.
A loss prevention officer at the Avenel K-Mart told police that they saw the woman put multiple cases of Red Bull and other items into an 18-gallon tote bag and attempt to walk out of the store at around 3 p.m. Thursday afternoon. Tara Lassandro, a 40-year-old Perth Amboy woman, was stopped and the bag was searched. Inside, police said they found 48 cans of Red Bull (total value of $364), a 35-bottle pack of water, a 24-pack of Pepsi and cereal.
She was arrested, taken to Woodbridge police headquarters and when her name was checked it was discovered that she had the four outstanding warrants from the other towns. Lassandro was taken to the Middlesex County jail.
