Women's Health Initiative Annual Gala
Honoring Area Women for their commitment to community.
On March 19, 2020, the Women’s Health Initiative, a program of the JRMC, along with Aetna Better Health, will honor three Central New Jersey women for their commitment to community, and women’s health and wellness initiatives. The “Brazilian Carnival” themed Gala will be held at the Grand Marquis in Old Bridge, NJ at 6:00pm.
The honorees at this year’s Gala are Middlesex County Sheriff, Mildred Scott of Piscataway for the Magnanimity Award; Perth Amboy Mayor’s Aide, Jeanette Rios of Perth Amboy for the Service Award; and JRMC Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Amit Saini of Edison for the Leadership Award.
The Women’s Health Initiative is a comprehensive health and wellness program that provides medical and behavioral health services to women who are primarily from underserved communities, and who may lack sufficient, if any health insurance. The Women’s Health Initiative was created in response to a desperate need for healthcare services within Central Jersey, especially breast cancer screenings through mammography.

The Gala is the 2nd annual fundraiser, with proceeds going toward the purchase of a 3-D mammogram machine; available to a population of women who would otherwise not have access to advanced screening for breast cancer. Early detection saves lives and the Women's Health Initiative is dedicated to providing resources for all women, regardless of their ability to pay.
