Woodbridge: Cast A Can When You Vote In June 6 Primary
It's a tradition that's unique to Woodbridge Twp.: Bring a can or 2, or 3 when you vote tomorrow in the June 6 primary.

WOODBRIDGE, NJ — When you go to the polls to vote Tuesday in the primary, and if you live in Woodbridge Township, make sure you bring a can of food with you. The "Cast-A-Can-When-You-Cast-Your-Vote" food drive is unique to Woodbridge and it's a long-standing tradition in the Township unique to election day. While you're at it, here's Patch's excellent guide to Primary Day voting tomorrow.
When Township residents go to vote on Tuesday, June 6, they are asked to take a can … or two … or three … to their polling location for drop-off in the blue ‘Cast-A-Can’ container. The “Cast-A-Can-When-You-Cast-Your-Vote” food drive, coordinated by students from Woodbridge High School, works with the Board of Elections and the Municipal Clerk’s Office to place drop-off containers at the 32 polling locations throughout the Township. The students collect the containers at the close of the polling location and take the donated food to the Township Health Center where it is sorted and distributed to food pantries.
Woodbridge Township food banks receive the foods from the Township Health Center for distribution to Township families through the following food pantries:
