Woodbridge Fake Gun Arrest on NJ 101.5 (VIDEO)
It's the Woodbridge fake gun arrest that won't go away: Carlo Bellario talked to NJ 101.5 Tuesday morning.

WOODBRIDGE, NJ - Carlo Bellario, the struggling actor arrested in 2015 in Woodbridge Township after getting caught with a fake gun, continues to speak out about what many are calling his unfair prosecution. Bellario was on NJ 101.5 Tuesday, where he talked with host Bill Spadea. Watch the clip below.
As Patch has reported, Bellario was arrested Nov. 16, 2015 on Ridgedale Avenue in Woodbridge. He was filming a small role in a low-budget action movie, and the director told him to aim a fake pellet gun at an oncoming car. Ridgedale Avenue residents called 911, thinking the gun was real, and Woodbridge PD surrounded the set. Not only did the movie's director and producer lack a permit to film, they also lacked a permit for the prop gun. New Jersey's strict gun laws require permits for even the airsoft BB gun Bellario was holding.
Because the gun was in his hands, Bellario was the only one arrested that day — not the director or producer. He spent four nights in the Middlesex County jail and was facing up to 30 years in prison at one point. But in July, he reluctantly took a plea deal: Confess to false public alarm, a third-degree charge, and do two years of probation. No jail time. At the time, he told Patch it was "heart breaking" for him to take the deal.

"An actor is not supposed to show up on a set and say, 'Hey, do you have your permits?' DeNiro doesn't go on a set and say, 'Hey Marty Scorsese, do you have your permits?'" Bellario said. "And the prosecutor said, 'Well, he's obviously not Robert DeNiro.'" Ouch.
