Woodbridge Girl Plans Lemonade Stand To Save Toys R Us
Delilah Jane Farrell Lattanzi, 8, a third-grader at Mawbey Elementary School, is planning a lemonade stand to save her beloved store.

WOODBRIDGE, NJ — She's going to single-handedly save Toys R Us. With her lemonade stand.
Delilah Jane Farrell Lattanzi, an 8-year-old Woodbridge Twp. girl, was so upset by the news of Toys R Us' bankruptcy that she announced she wants to try and save her local Toys R Us store in Iselin.
This third-grader at Mawbey Elementary School started a petition to save the company, which so far has been signed by over 100 people. She is also hosting a lemonade stand at her house and said she will give the proceeds to Toys R Us. Some of her classmates at Mawbey elementary are helping out, too.

“I will always be a Toys R Us kid! My mom grew up with it, my grandmother grew up with it and I want my kids to,” the little girl told News 12 New Jersey. “I can’t imagine my kids not knowing what Toys R Us is. It would just be mind-blowing."
Her father told the TV station his daughter knows her efforts won't be enough to save the company, which announced this spring it will liquidate and close all its stores. But he said Delilah just wanted to take a stand and do something about a situation that upset her.

Toys R Us released a statement saying they were touched by the young lady's gesture.
"The outpouring of support, from both kids and adults, for Toys R Us has been tremendous. We appreciate the love and kindness and will be forever grateful to our customers, like this wonderful girl in Woodbridge," read a company statement, according to CBS Philadelphia.
Delilah said if Toys R Us does not accept the money from her lemonade stand, she will donate it to a local children’s hospital.
