Woodbridge Hires Four New Firefighters

WOODBRIDGE, NJ — Woodbridge swore in four new firefighters this week, and promoted seven more at Woodbridge Fire Department Fire District #1.

The four new firefighters will join the combination department (some paid, some volunteer). All four are professional firefighters, and will make a starting salary of $22,000 per year. When they achieve Firefighter 2 status, their salary rises to $40,000. Their salaries are paid for by Woodbridge Twp. taxpayers.

Sworn in this week are firefighters Christopher Kenny, Gilbert Rivera, Christopher Jago and Daniel Aquino.

Promoted, from left to right, are: Provisional Deputy Chief Robert Paul, Captain Robert Fizer, Provisional Deputy Chief Michael Balog, Provisional Battalion Chief Stephen Weber, Provisional Battalion Chief David Hines, Captain Keith McGrath and Captain Michael Barcellona.
