Woodbridge Man Charged With Murdering Roommate

Police say a man strangled his roommate to death Saturday in the home they shared on Kennedy Place in Woodbridge Township.

WOODBRIDGE, NJ — A Woodbridge man has been charged with murdering his roommate; the dead man was found in the home they shared on Kennedy Place just after 8 a.m. this past Saturday, Nov. 9, said the county prosecutor and Woodbridge police.

Corne Dionisio, 33, of Woodbridge was arrested that same day and is charged with first-degree murder, one count of aggravated assault in the second degree, and two counts of aggravated assault in the third degree in the murder.

The murdered man is Fidel Ruiz, 32, of Woodbridge.

Dionisio is suspected of strangling him to death, said the Middlesex County prosecutor.

On Saturday, police responded to the home on Kennedy Place in Woodbridge Township at approximately 8 a.m. after they were alerted that the victim was unresponsive in the home. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

An autopsy was done and police say the cause of death was homicidal asphyxiation.

Dionisio is currently being held in the Middlesex County Adult Corrections Center, according to the county prosecutor.
