Woodbridge Man Charged With Shoplifting At Woodbridge Center

A local Woodbridge man was arrested Tuesday, Dec. 12 and charged with shoplifting from the Woodbridge Center Mall Macy's.

WOODBRIDGE, NJ — A local Woodbridge man was arrested Tuesday, Dec. 12 and charged with shoplifting from the Woodbridge Center Mall Macy's. Women from Rahway were charged with shoplifting at the mall Monday, Dec. 11, as well.

Store security said they watched on CCTV cameras before 10 p.m. on Tuesday night as Torries Thomas, 41, allegedly put items into a shopping bag and tried to walk out. When he was stopped by store security, they said they found a metal-cutting device and a folding knife commonly used to remove the security sensors from merchandise on him, police said.

Woodbridge police were called and in total, Thomas was charged with attempting to shoplift $749 worth of clothing from the Macy's. He was also charged with possession of burglary tools.
