Woodbridge Man Hospitalized After Rt. 9 Old Bridge Crash
A Woodbridge man and a Morganville woman were hospitalized after they were involved in a four-car crash on Rt. 9 in Old Bridge Tuesday.
OLD BRIDGE, NJ — A Woodbridge man and a Morganville woman had to be hospitalized after they were involved in a four-car crash on Rt. 9 in Old Bridge Tuesday evening, according to Old Bridge Police.
The crash happened just after 5 p.m. Tuesday on Rt. 9 in the area of Fairway Lane: A northbound silver Mercedes Benz driven by the Woodbridge man sideswiped a black BMW in the center lane, say police.
It remains unknown at this time what caused him to swerve. No charges have been filed as of Wednesday afternoon.

The Mercedes Benz then swerved across the left lane, across the grass median and through a chain-link fence, where it entered Rt. 9 traffic southbound. The Mercedes Benz then struck a white Ford Escape headed south on Rt. 9. A fourth car, a red Mazda on Rt. 9 south, then collided with the Ford Escape, say police.
The Mercedes driver was identified by police as a 55-year-old man from the Port Reading section of Woodbridge. He was taken to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the red Mazda, a 57-year-old Morganville woman, was taken to Hackensack Meridian Health in Old Bridge for non-life threatening injuries.
No injuries were reported with the other drivers.
This accident shut down all three lanes of Rt. 9 southbound for several hours Tuesday night.
