Woodbridge Man Stabbed Woman At Avenel Flea Market, Police Charge
A local man got into a screaming match and then stabbed a woman early Sunday morning at the Avenel Flea Market, said Woodbridge police.
WOODBRIDGE, NJ — An Avenel man got into a screaming match and then stabbed a woman early Sunday morning at the Avenel Flea Market, according to Woodbridge police.
Woodbridge police were called at 7:14 a.m. Sunday for a reported stabbing at the Avenel Flea Market, a popular local market held on Rahway Avenue.
When police got there, they found the victim, a 45-year-old Newark woman, with stab wounds to her neck. Police and EMS gave first aid and she was ultimately transported to University Hospital in Newark.

Ross Durham, 28, of Avenel, was arrested and charged with the crime.
Police say Durham lives in the apartment complex next door, in a unit overlooking the flea market. He initially began screaming at the woman and her son from his apartment window, and the parties exchanged words, said police.

Durham then came down from the apartment complex, assaulted the woman from behind and stabbed her in the neck with a knife, charge police.
He returned to his apartment where he was located and arrested.
Durham was charged with aggravated assault, criminal attempted murder, weapons offenses and hindering arrest. He was taken to the Middlesex County jail.
