Also, Middlesex County started building a pedestrian walkway bridge that will connect the dog park with Alvin P. Williams Park.

WOODBRIDGE, NJ — Later this spring, Woodbridge Township plans to dredge the creek that leads up to Anchors Tiki Bar.

Anchors is the tiki bar located at 616 Cliff Road in the Sewaren section of Woodbridge. It is owned by Woodbridge Township.

The creek there has a name, Smith's Creek. The town wants to make the creek deeper so more boats can get to the tiki bar. Also, Woodbridge plans to install a "dock-and-dine structure" at the tiki bar, to allow boat travelers more easy access to the bar. That dock-and-dine structure will be also be coming this summer.

That part of Sewaren is getting a lot of improvements: Middlesex County started building a pedestrian walkway bridge that will start in the back of the dog park and connect with Alvin P. Williams park. And the town plans to build a new dog park in that area this year, as well.

The town also used funding from the county to purchase two homes to expand the parking lot for Anchors. Also, a large vacant lot in the middle of Cliff Road will be preserved as dedicated open space. It will never be built on to protect the pretty view of the water there, McCormac said Monday.

The Cliff Road waterfront walkway, known as the Riverwalk, has been extended and refurbished as well.

Woodbridge and Middlesex County really invested a lot to improve Cliff Road in Sewaren, which is one of the prettiest and most scenic parts of town.
