WOODBRIDGE, NJ-- The Woodbridge Police Department are undergoing reevaluation for national accreditation, and are inviting the public to comment.

“Verification by the CALEA team that the WPD meets the Commission’s standards is part of a voluntary process to reestablish accreditation - a highly-prized recognition of law enforcement professional excellence,” said Director Hubner. “Accreditation is very important as it represents a way of measuring the WPD against nationally recognized standards, while fitting perfectly with the Township’s commitment to continued professionalism. Once the Commission’s assessors complete their review of the agency, they report back to the full CALEA Commission, which will then decide if the agency has met all of the requirements for re-accreditation.”
Departments must be re-accredited every three years, which Woodbridge has donce since 1999. They must show continued compliance to all CALEA standards to keep accreditation status during the three year period.
