Woodbridge Police To Speak About Scams

Woodbridge police will speak to residents about avoiding scams.

The free presentation will be held at the Woodbridge Main Library at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 1.

The department’s community affairs division will speak about scams and consumer fraud.

Earlier this month, a township woman was the victim of a scam when a caller pretended to be a lawyer working with a local police department.

That caller told the victim that her husband had been on his cell phone when he caused a fatal car crash, and the con artist convinced the woman to wire money to the Dominican Republic.
